BETWEEN TRACKS 19 June – 18 July 2009 Preview Thursday 18 June 2009 Between Tracks is an exhibition of new work by nine British and Swiss artists, taking place at The International 3 and The Salford Restoration Office. Exhibiting artists are, Andrea Corciulo, Dave Griffiths, Candice Jacobs, Aurelio Kopainig, Alexandra Maurer, Haroon Mirza, Aleksandra Signer and David Sherry, with performances by David Sherry and Andrea Vogel. Artists exhibiting at The Salford Restoration Office are Dave Griffiths, Haroon Mirza and Aleksandra Signer. Developed in collaboration with the St.Gallen based artist group, NEXTEX, Between Tracks aims to encourage discussion between artists who are based outside their respective country’s primary art centres. In May this year, twelve Manchester based artists exhibited alongside six Swiss artists in St.Gallen’s disused Badhaus, a remarkable nineteenth century building whose original use as temporary lodgings for railway labourers has long since lapsed. FREE TRADE To coincide with the exhibition Between Tracks is the screening programme Free Trade. With Swiss videos selected by NEXTEX and British videos selected by The Salford Restoration Office and The International 3, Free Trade is a combination of narrative based works and performance to camera.
